Earning a spot on U.S. News & World Report’s list of the 23 “Most Affordable Midsize Cars,” the 2009 Pontiac G6’s wide array of configurations and options makes it very easy to like. No matter which G6 you choose, the ride will be anything but dull.
The 2009 Pontiac G6 is available as a sedan, coupe or two-door hardtop convertible. The sedan offers base, GT and GXP trims; the coupe comes in GT and GXP varieties; and the convertible offers one well-equipped GT trim. Three different engine options are offered. Base sedan models come with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with 164 hp mated to a four-speed automatic transmission. With this setup and an EPA rating of 22 mpg city and 30 mpg highway (33 mpg highway with the Sport Package), the G6 surpasses many other cars in its class. The GT models arrive with a 3.5-liter 219-hp V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT) while GXP trims feature a 3.6-liter V6 that develops 252 hp. In fact, the numbers look good all around with the 2009 G6 starting at an MSRP of $20,490 for the sedan, $24,080 for the coupe and $31,870 for the stunning convertible.
