2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Earns Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year

Saturday, December 12th, 2009

The 2010 Ram Heavy Duty was named Motor Trend’s 2010 Truck of the Year, commending its proficiency from a work hard and play hard mentality. The Heavy Duty Ram is a perfect fit for general contractors who can appreciate the utility and reinforcement a solid truck like the Ram brings to the table. In addition to durability and power, the truck captures organization of tools and materials as if it were engineered by contractors.

Then when the works done and it’s time to take a road trip, the Dodge Ram 3500 offers it’s 17,000 lb towing capacity to live up to the play hard sentiment. Towing a pair of wave runners is one thing, but hook up a 35′ Jayco travel trailer or whatever you may own, and competency would be an understatement.

The 6.7L I6 Cummins¨ Turbo Diesel engine is standard on both the 2500 and 3500 models with MSRP of the former starting at $28,165. And at times like this, when rates are as good as ever, owning one of these gets more realistic and tempting. It’s like the old saying, better to have the power and not need it than to need the power and not have it.

Dodge has pulled ahead smartly as Ford and GM get caught sitting this one out, they simply did not have a contender here. Dodge won hands down in no small part by getting this truck to market ahead of the others who may have stood a chance.

Dodge has built some momentum, some of which led by a smart move from Scott Kunselman, Chrysler’s senior vice president of engineering, who decided to focus more attention on the fuel efficiency of the new Dodge Ram as opposed to which one will climb a hill at 80 mph towing 15,000 pounds the fastest. The Dodge Ram Heavy Duty trucks have a big rig style as hauling is what most people buy them for, but today fuel efficiency is a stat most vehicles are being measured.

In addition to the bold design, everything about the truck is heavy duty and purposefully so since they built the powertrain with endurance in mind. It may be overkill to some, but those who buy one for the purpose they were built will appreciate all it has to offer down to the optional 7×11 inch folding trailer tow mirrors equipped with turn signals.

Dodge earns the heavyweight title and it will be tough for any challenger to step into the ring and try to take it.

Dodge Challenger Showcase

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

The new Dodge Challenger steps out from the shadow of the original.

When it debuted, the new Dodge Challenger was seen by many as an attempt to recapture the glory and mystique of the iconic original. Now, as the next-generation muscle car turns yet another page in its storied history, it has become perfectly clear that this Challenger has a style and attitude all its own.

The retro influence of the new Dodge Challenger remains unmistakable. The black mesh grille with flanking dual round headlamps, the low-mounted foglamps, the body-width taillights, the sleek and slender design all speak directly to the legendary performance car of decades past. Even the vehicle’s lines themselves, which stretch long through the body and arch subtly over the rear wheel, reflect the very DNA of Dodge’s icon.

Ultimately, however, the newest Challenger is the muscle car built for the 21st century. The thick, athletic design of Dodge’s latest is comprised of vast, beveled panels and subtle, tapered arches and flares. Resting on a stable foundation of available aggressive 20-inch forged aluminum wheels, the new Challenger features a carefully sculpted performance hood (with intakes or available center-mounted scoop), racing-style fuel door, dual-chrome exhaust, sweeping roofline with integrated power moonroof and an athletic decklid spoiler.

New Dodge Ram a Showcase of Innovation

Friday, September 25th, 2009

The most appealing part of the newest Dodge Ram 1500 isn’t that it represents what a full-size truck should be, but that it embodies everything a full-size truck has never been before. Combining best-in-class features with confident capability, the new Ram brings a new school of thought to the old-school pickup.

In Regular, Crew and Quad cab models, the newest Ram 1500 brings the truck into the modern age. Tested as extensively in the wind tunnel as off-road, the Ram features an aggressive new design that’s sleeker and more contemporary than any previous iteration. Behind the wraparound chrome bumper and imposing, forward-leaning chrome crosshairs with flanking headlamps, the new Ram brings power and muscularity to new levels.

2009 Dodge Charger : A 1960s Icon Reinvented

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

The 2009 Charger: A 1960s Icon Reinvented Flex your muscles on the road with this powerful ride.

If you’re looking for a truly classic muscle car, look no farther than the 2009 Dodge Charger. Although others in its class may claim to evoke nostalgia with a modern twist, only the Charger delivers a bold enough style with the power and technology of a 21st century vehicle.

The 2009 Dodge Charger is a five-passenger, rear-wheel drive performance sedan available in four trim levels – SE, SXT, R/T and SRT8. The well-equipped base SE delivers a solid ride with its 178-hp 2.7-liter multi-port fuel injection (MPI) V6 engine, and gets an EPA rating of 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway. The SXT, with the option of all-wheel drive (also available on the R/T), is powered by a 3.5-liter High-Output, 24-valve MPI V6 engine. While the SE and SXT trims come standard with 17-inch aluminum wheels, the R/T bumps it up a notch with 18-inchers. The SXT H Package upgrades the interior with leather-trimmed seats.
