Buick – In the midst of a transformation – Enclave LaCrosse and Regal

Tuesday, August 24th, 2010

The Buick brand has gone through a number of transformations and redefines itself with a few nicely designed models starting with the Enclave, LaCrosse, and Regal.

If you’ve ever been in a Buick you’d probably have noticed that these are made for someone who wants the nicest quality and comfort in an American made automobile. The Buick brand is emerging in the luxury car segment with it’s style and technology features.

If you look over a Buick you’ll notice that it also has something that many of the other manufacturers do not, a slight performance twist giving their luxury vehicles a bit of an edge. Define slight however you’d like, but the Buick Regal Grand National back in ‘84-87 was anything but slight. The Buick Regal Grand Nationals were kings of the street, a legendary vehicle that looked sinister and earned it’s place as one of America’s most powerful and wonderfully engineered vehicles. This history is what makes Buick a tough one to beat.

Buick wants to bring themselves back up, they want to give the public a little taste of what they’ve always been capable of. Now with the Enclave, LaCrosse, and Regal they’re setting out to do that.

The new Enclave is part of a growing momentum behind Buick that along with the success of the LaCrosse, is expected to continue along on it’s winning spree of month over month growth in sales. The past eight months have shown that these vehicles do have something special because despite their relative low profile in terms of consumer awareness, once people are getting introduced to them they fall in love.

With the Buick Enclave at a suggested MSRP of $35,515 you can expect a lot of luxury in the Buick Crossover SUV and the same quality that Buick has been known for producing over the years. The practical size, sleek design, and interior luxury are only footnotes to the experience one can expect in meeting one in person.

2010 Buick Lacrosse HiPer Suspension Offers Great Ride

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

The Buick LaCrosse, a midsized sedan and now Buick’s flagship vehicle came on the scene in model year 2005. At that time the LaCrosse was thought of as a “Buick’ and equated as grandma’s tool around wheels driven to Kroger on Saturday and church on Sunday. This was fine for grandma but was met with ‘ho hum’ from younger demographics. While grandma needs a good tool around vehicle, when working on the redesign Buick redefined the ‘Buick’ for a different demographic and maybe grandma will like the change, but it’s a decidedly hipper granny; the luxury driving kind.

Buicks 2011 LaCrosse does not infringe on the exceptionally crafted 2010 redesign with the exception of eliminating the 3.0-L V6 engine and will replace that with a 2.4-L inline four-cylinder engine; however, the 3.6-L V6 engine will still be offered. Buick offers the LaCrosse in three trim levels: the CX, CXL, and CXS. The 2010 base suggested MSRP of $27,085 won’t change much for the 2011 model; however the 2011 model with the 2.4-L will have a suggested MSRP of $27,000.

Buick’s new outlook and styling now competes with vehicles like Lexus but priced affordably–it is also worth a few minutes to address how the stylish exterior and refined interior feels on the open road.

Buick now offers HiPer strut front suspension which is engineered to all but terminate torque steer while still offering drivers an almost luxury vehicle that corners like an almost sports sedan. The HiPer strut will be offered on LaCrosse CXS with the 3.6-L engine this model year but will be offered on more GM vehicles in the near future.

It is an exciting time in the auto industry with new offerings from many US automakers tailor-made to excite and spoil while keeping the customer’s pocketbook in mind. Check out your nearest Buick dealership soon. It is a reasonable assumption that you will not be disappointed.
